History
I have been in this industry for 60+ years. My Grandpa was a professional tailor, so needless to say, I learned at a very young age. I spent most of my young life in his office. I still remember the hum of his now “antique” Singer foot pedal machine. I was one of those children that took Home Economics in school & loved it. Between my grandparents and school I learned the art of sewing and tailoring. I made my first long sleeved shift dress at age 10, getting an A in class and appreciation from my Grandfather on how precise my stitches were. This is me 1971, just married making my own drapes for my home. Contact me now to get a quote!

Beautiful Plum beaded mother of the groom gown. Closed the cleavage split in the front of the bodice, & opened the arm holes a bit. Beautiful gown, but those plum beads!! My needles hated them......But the owner loved her gown!
Made this "Bouquetiers" (bridal flower holder) for a client for her wedding out of her mothers & grandmothers wedding gowns. It has the lining and roses from her grandmothers gown and the outer tulle with applique, pearl beads & buttons are from her mothers gown. She LOVED it! All hand made, hand sewn. Then roses are hand twisted ribbon formed into a rose, then sewn on. I also sewed little pearl
Hand sewn buttons on the back Pretty cool huh?
Lavender sequined beaded gown I remade the bodice turning it into a corset like bodice. I had to remove it from the skirt part of the gown so I could put in the "bones". Then reattach the entire bodice to the skirt part.

My husband contacted Ms. Hurtekant on Monday and explained to her what I needed done. I literally need a whole skirt suit(with lots of sequins) altered by Friday🤦🏽♀️. I ordered the suit online and lo and behold it was too big and I didn't have time to send it back. Took my suit to Ms. Michelle and she was a God sent🙏🏼🙏🏼. Excellent service in a timely fashion and very affordable. If anyone is looking for a seamstress, Ms. Hurtekant is the woman to call. You will not be disappointed. Again, thank you so much, I really appreciate your professionalism and courtesy ❤️

I had alterations done on 6 Dress Shirts by EM'S and they did a fantastic job. They saved me from having to go and spend hundreds of dollars on Tailored Shirts! I look forward to having them do alterations on my new shirts from now on as oppose to buying expensive customs/tailor made in the future..

Ms. Hurtekant did a bang up job altering my two suits which I had made in South Korea two years ago on vacation when I was heavier. After loosing weight alterations were needed for both suits. The final cost was less than her original estimate. The suits were pressed and ready for pick up on my arrival. I would highly recommend Em's Stiches To Fixes for professional service and reasonable prices!

Michelle, owner of Em's Stitches To Fixes can sew anything you want such as clothing, nylon and reupholster cushions etc. She is conscientious and gave me choices on how to do my sewing project. I was contacted promptly by Michelle and given an accurate estimate for my sewing project on a nylon material vest. I would definitely hire her again.

I called Stitches To Fixes to price check, getting zippers replaced & hemmed in 4 pairs of jeans. I was surprised at the great price. Michelle is a very pleasant lady to talk with. I dropped off 4 pairs of jeans on Monday. She said it would be around Friday, and she would have them ready for me then. She called me Wednesday said they were ready! What fast service! The stitching was neat & clean & they fit perfectly! I highly recommend her to everyone needing zippers replaced & or hemmed.
